Day 136: Eighteen and a Good INE Photo

In Hermosillo, Luciano (A) and his classmate Rebeca (B), who both turn 18 next month, talk about getting their first INE card, Mexico's voter ID and everyday proof of identity.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Spanish word to see what it means.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Spanish, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

    For the photo? But everybody comes out looking awful in that photo.

    Pues a mí sí me importa. ¡Me va a durar diez años!

    Well, I care about it. I'll be stuck with it for ten years!

    A mí no. Voy con la playera que traiga ese día.

    I don't. I'm going in whatever T-shirt I've got on that day.

    ¿Ah, sí? ¿Y por qué te cortaste el pelo ayer?

    Oh, really? So why did you get your hair cut yesterday?
