Day 109: The Doctor's SAT Inbox Notice

During a check-up in Pachuca, Melissa (A), a young accountant, notices that her doctor, Juan Manuel (B), seems worried; the SAT is Mexico's tax authority.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Spanish word to see what it means.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Spanish, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

    Doctor, you seem worried. Is something wrong with my test results?

    No, usted sali贸 muy bien. Es que tengo un aviso en el buz贸n del SAT.

    No, your results are all fine. It's just that I've got a notice from the SAT in my online tax inbox.

    I'm glad you've told me, because I'm an accountant. May I have a look?

    S铆, por favor. Dice que mis facturas no coinciden con lo que declar茅.

    Yes, please. It says my invoices don't match what I declared.

    Es una carta invitaci贸n, no una multa. En caso de que se la pongan, no pague nada sin avisarme.

    It's a letter asking you to fix it, not a fine. If they do fine you, don't pay anything without telling me.

    Mi contador se jubil贸, y la declaraci贸n la hice yo solito con un tutorial.

    My accountant retired, and I did the tax return all by myself with a tutorial.

    Con raz贸n. Yo se la corrijo, pero le receto algo: un contador nuevo.

    No wonder. I'll correct it for you, but I'm prescribing you something: a new accountant.
