Day 30: A Scam in Our Son's Voice
At home in Culiacán, Lourdes (A) tells her husband Rigoberto (B) about a phone call she got that morning from their son Daniel, or so she thought.
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Spanish word to see what it means.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Spanish, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.
Dialogue
Audio recordings are on the way. For now, each lesson is the dialogue with its English translation.

¡No me digas que le depositaste!
Don't tell me you sent him the money!

Casi. Si no le hubiera marcado antes a su celular, habría depositado todo.
Nearly. If I hadn't called his cell first, I'd have transferred all of it.
-

¡Qué susto! Si hubieras depositado, ese dinero nunca lo habríamos recuperado.
What a fright! If you'd transferred it, we'd never have gotten that money back.

Sonaba igualito. Ya se puede copiar una voz con unos segundos de audio.
