Day 52: Seven Hours to Veracruz for Christmas

On the highway from Mexico City to Veracruz, where the family is going for Christmas, Karla (B) is driving, with her mother Leonor (A) beside her and her teenage son Emmanuel (C) in the back.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Spanish word to see what it means.

    Honey, can't we stop for a bit? I can't feel my legs anymore.

    We'll stop at the toll booth, Mom. With this traffic, we've been driving for seven hours.

    ¡Siete horas y ni a Córdoba llegamos! Es el peor viaje de mi vida.

    Seven hours and we haven't even reached Córdoba! This is the worst trip of my life.

    ¿El peor? El más largo de mi vida duró dos días, en un camión sin baño.

    The worst? The longest of my life took two days, on a bus with no bathroom.
