Day 101: Called Out in the Building Chat

In a housing complex in Puebla, Hern谩n (A) knocks on the door of his neighbor Leopoldo (B), who has posted a photo of Hern谩n's car blocking the entrance in the residents' WhatsApp group.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Spanish word to see what it means.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Spanish, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

    Don't take it the wrong way, but your car was blocking the entrance for almost an hour.

    I know, I'm sorry. I was bringing my dad home from the hospital, and it took me a while to get him upstairs.

    Oh, now I'm the one who's embarrassed. How's your dad doing?

    Mejor, gracias. Pero en un grupo en el cual hay sesenta vecinos, salieron mis placas.

    Better, thanks. But in a group with sixty neighbors in it, my license plates were there for everyone to see.

    Tiene raz贸n, ahorita la borro. El grupo es para avisos, no para exhibir a nadie.
