Day 147: INAPAM Discount to Tijuana

At a senior center in Hermosillo, Francisco (A), a young volunteer, helps Doña Genoveva (B), a widow, plan a bus trip to Tijuana to see her son; the INAPAM card, from the national institute for older people, gets its holders discounts on long-distance buses.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.

    Doña Genoveva, I've checked: if you leave at night, you get to Tijuana by mid-morning.

    Then book me a ticket today, because the discounted seats sell out.

    Todavía no se lo puedo apartar: el descuento se lo dan solo con la credencial del INAPAM.

    I can't book it for you yet, because they only give you the discount with your INAPAM card.

    ¿Y cuándo llega la credencial? Me emociona llegarle de sorpresa a mi hijo en su cumpleaños.

    And when's the card coming? I'm excited about showing up to surprise my son on his birthday.

    They say on Monday. As soon as I get it, I'll bring it to you and we'll buy the ticket together.
