Day 82: Labels for a Coatepec Coffee Brand

At a print shop in Coatepec, a coffee-growing town in Veracruz, Irving (A), a young man who has just started roasting and selling his own coffee, orders labels from Nancy (B), the assistant.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.

    Good afternoon. I'd like to get some labels printed for my coffee bags.

    ¿Cuántas quiere? Entre más imprima, más barata le sale cada una.

    How many would you like? The more you print, the cheaper each one comes out.

    Unas quinientas, a no ser que me dé mejor precio por mil.

    About five hundred, unless you can give me a better price on a thousand.

    Yo empezaría con quinientas, en caso de que le cambie algo al diseño.

    I'd start with five hundred, in case you change anything in the design.

    Sale. Eso sí, necesito un papel que aguante la humedad de Coatepec.

    Para eso le conviene el vinil. Oiga, ¿y el nombre ya es definitivo?

    For that, vinyl's your best bet. By the way, is the name final?

    Casi. Es Café Doña Dominga, por mi abuela, a no ser que se oponga: todavía no le digo.

    Almost. It's Café Doña Dominga, after my grandmother, unless she objects: I haven't told her yet.
